This is the day we have been waiting weeks for. We go for a night mountain bike ride to the top of Monte Baldo at an altitude of 2150 mt. The weather is perfect, the temperature won’t be too low when we come down at night. And moreover, we will have a fabulous full moon giving us light on the mountains on the way back. We leave at 4.00 pm from Spiazzi at about 850 mt. of altitude. After 1 hour of climbing, we reach the parking place Due Pozze – most people hiking to the top, leave their car here. After a short break we start biking again and in 50 minutes we reach the first refuge called Rifugio Chierego. We have already climbed more than 1000 mt. and we are now at 1910 mt. From up here, on the west side of the Baldo, we can see about 80% of Lake Garda. On the east side we can see the fantastic Val D’Adige. We keep going heading to the top. This is the most difficult part as the path will get very stony and very steep. Along the way we see a herd of beautiful chamois grazing very peacefully and looking at us. They are used to people up here but they do not like people getting too close. After stepping off the bike, as some parts are too dangerous to be biked, we reach the base of the refuge. We leave the bikes here and in 10 minutes on foot we are at the Telegrafo refuge. The air is getting colder. We get some water; we look at the magnificent view and we start going back as we need to be out of this last part before it gets dark. In 1 hour we are back at
